Movie Plot/Summary
In 1920, during the British Raj, Governor Scott Buxton and his wife Catherine visit a forest in Adilabad, where they abduct Malli, a young girl with extraordinary artistic talent from the Gond tribe. Komaram Bheem, the tribe’s guardian, sets off for Delhi to rescue her, adopting the disguise of a Muslim named Akhtar. The Nizamate of Hyderabad alerts Buxton’s office about the looming danger and urges them to return the child. Undeterred, Catherine recruits A. Rama Raju, an ambitious officer of the Indian Imperial Police, to neutralize the threat, offering him a promotion if he captures Bheem alive, or a bounty if he kills him. Raju and his uncle, Venkateswarulu, attend a pro-independence gathering undercover, where Bheem’s ally, Lachhu, tries to recruit them into his cause.
As they head toward Bheem’s hideout, Lachhu realizes Raju’s true identity and flees. Soon after, Raju and Bheem, unaware of each other’s true motives, work together to save a child caught in a train wreck. Their shared experience sparks a deep friendship, culminating in an unexpected bond between the two men.
With Raju’s assistance, Bheem pursues an Englishwoman named Jenny, learning that she is staying with the Buxtons. After a lively party where Bheem and Raju outshine the pompous English guests with their dance skills, Jenny invites Bheem to her home. There, Bheem discovers Malli and vows to free her soon. Meanwhile, Raju tracks down and captures Lachhu. During questioning, Lachhu releases a banded krait onto Raju, threatening his life and revealing that the only antidote is known to the Gonds. Bheem rescues Raju, shares his tribal heritage and mission, unaware of Raju’s true identity. Later that evening, during a ceremony to honor Governor Buxton, Bheem’s men storm the Buxton residence with a truckload of wild animals, causing chaos as the creatures attack Scott’s guards. Amid the turmoil, Raju confronts Bheem in a fight, forcing Bheem to retreat when Buxton holds Malli at gunpoint. Bheem is arrested, and Raju is promoted.
