Movie Plot/Summary
In Bahubali Movie Starting… A woman steps out from a cave beneath a mountain, cradling an infant in her arms. As she attempts to cross a fierce river, the powerful current pulls her under. On the brink of death, she lifts the baby high and prays to Lord Shiva, pleading for the child’s life to be spared for the future of the Mahishmati Kingdom. The baby, Mahendra Baahubali, is rescued by the Amburi tribe, and the tribe’s chieftain’s wife, Sanga, takes him in as her own, naming him Siva.
Siva grows up to be an ambitious, playful child, fixated on climbing the mountain despite his mother’s constant warnings. Each attempt ends in failure, but his determination never wavers. As a young man, he demonstrates extraordinary strength when he lifts a lingam of Lord Shiva and places it at the foot of the mountain. As he does so, a mask falls from above, revealing it to belong to a woman. After this Siva in Bahubali Movie, Intrigued, Siva becomes determined to find its owner, and finally succeeds in scaling the mountain. At the summit, he encounters Avantika, the mask’s owner, and decides to follow her. He soon learns that Avantika is part of a resistance group aiming to overthrow the oppressive King Bhallaladeva of Mahishmati and rescue the imprisoned princess Devasena.
Siva, deeply infatuated with Avantika, pledges his loyalty to her cause and sets out for Mahishmati. Disguised as a guard, he sneaks into the royal palace, where he distracts Bhallaladeva and rescues Devasena. Furious, Bhallaladeva sends his son Bhadra and his trusted servant and general, Kattappa, to track down Siva. During the battle that follows, Siva kills Bhadra just as the Amburi tribe and resistance forces arrive to aid him. When Kattappa sees Siva’s face, he bows in reverence and declares him ‘Baahubali’. Kattappa then reveals a shocking truth: Siva is Mahendra Bahubali, the son of Amarendra Baahubali, the legendary warrior prince of Mahishmati. The woman who saved him was none other than Queen Sivagami, his grandmother.
Amarendra Bahubali was the orphaned son of King Vikramadeva. Following the king’s death, his younger brother Bijjaladeva’s wife, Sivagami, became the Regent. She took on the responsibility of raising Bahubali alongside her own son, Bhallaladeva, with the intention of selecting the next king. Both showed great potential, but while Bhallaladeva inherited his father’s power-hungry tendencies, Baahubali won the hearts of the people. When Mahishmati was threatened by the Kalakeya tribe and its leader, Inkoshi, it was decided that the person who could defeat the tribe would ascend to the throne.
