Movie Plot/Summary
Indhu Rebecca Varghese, accompanied by her daughter Arsheya Mukund, father-in-law Varadarajan, and mother-in-law Geetha Varadarajan, is en route to New Delhi to receive the Ashoka Chakra, which will be awarded posthumously to her late husband, Mukund Varadarajan. Reflecting on their enduring bond, she shares that she will always be in a long-distance relationship with her love, as she begins to recount the story of his life.
Indhu starts her undergraduate studies at Madras Christian College in Chennai, where Mukund is a senior. After a competitive selection process involving participants from various colleges, Indhu is chosen to represent her college at a fashion show. Initially hesitant, she is persuaded by Mukund, who encourages her to take part. She ultimately wins the competition and, feeling grateful, thanks Mukund. Their friendship blossoms into love, and they begin dating. Later, Indhu learns that Mukund plans to join the Indian Army. His mother, Geetha, strongly opposes this decision, but Mukund, determined to pursue his dream, successfully passes the Officers Training Academy entry exam with the support of Indhu and Varadarajan.
Later, when Indhu meets the Varadarajan family, his mother immediately disapproves of the marriage, unlike his father and two sisters who are supportive.
After months of rigorous training, Mukund is promoted to rifle and gun trainer in Mhowgaon. Meanwhile, when Indhu confesses her love for Mukund to her family, her father, George Varghese, and her older brother, Deebu, react with anger and reluctance, primarily because he is a Tamilian and, moreover, an Army officer. Tensions escalate when Mukund becomes furious upon learning that George reported to his commanding officer about his daughter’s relationship with him. This leads to a painful breakup, leaving Indhu heartbroken.
