Movie Plot/Summary
In Moana 2 Movie, Set Three years after her journey with the demigod Maui and the island goddess Te Fiti, Moana has been spending her time exploring neighboring islands around Motunui, hoping to encounter people still connected to the ocean.
In the story of Moana-2 Movie, In a vision, Moana’s ancestor, Tautai Vasa, reveals the reason why the people are no longer connected: the vengeful storm god Nalo sought dominion over mortals and sank the legendary island of Motufetu, which had once linked all the islands, deep beneath the ocean. Tautai warns that if Moana cannot find a way to raise Motufetu, the people of Motunui will face extinction. Determined to save her people, Moana assembles a crew from Motunui: the skilled craftswoman Loto, the historian and Maui enthusiast Moni, and the grumpy, elderly farmer Keke. Together with her pet pig Pua and rooster Heihei, they set sail, following the trail of a comet across the ocean toward Motufetu.
Maui is on a quest to find Motufetu, driven by a past conflict with Nalo, but he is captured by Nalo’s enforcer, Matangi. Although Maui hesitates to reach out to Moana, fearing for her safety, she and her crew are soon taken by the Kakamora—a ruthless tribe of coconut-like pirates who have crossed paths with Moana before. The Kakamora reveal that Nalo’s actions against Motufetu had caused them to become estranged from their home island. Kotu, a member of the tribe, assists the crew in paralyzing a giant clam that houses Matangi’s lair. As the crew rescues Maui, Moana encounters Matangi, who reveals her dissatisfaction with serving Nalo. She helps Moana escape, rejoin Maui and the crew, and sends them on their way to confront Nalo.
