Movie Plot/Summary
MORA (Mythological Oversight and Restoration Authority) is a covert, multinational military organization dedicated to safeguarding a secret peace agreement between mythological creatures and humanity. Callum Drift, the commander of ELF (Enforcement Logistics and Fortification) and head of Santa Claus’s personal security, seeks to retire after one final Christmas mission. Disillusioned by the rise in global mischief, reflected in the ever-expanding Naughty List, Callum plans to step down. However, on Christmas Eve, a black ops team infiltrates the North Pole and abducts Santa. Callum alerts Director Zoe Harlow about the breach, and her team uncovers that the North Pole’s hidden location was compromised by Jack O’Malley, a mercenary hacker with a reputation for finding anything—no matter how well hidden.
Zoe takes Jack into custody for questioning. A long-time skeptic of Santa, Jack insists that he had no idea the information he hacked was connected to Santa and that he only sold it to an anonymous buyer. Zoe offers to double Jack’s payment if he agrees to help them find Santa and implants a tracker in him. Reluctantly, Callum teams up with Jack to locate Santa by tracking down Ted, the middleman who facilitated the deal between Jack and the kidnapper in Aruba. Ted reveals that the kidnapper is the winter witch Grýla. As soon as her name is mentioned, Grýla learns of their conversation and sends her snowman henchmen to eliminate them. Though Callum and Jack manage to defeat the snowmen, Ted is frozen during the fight.
Callum suspects that Grýla may be collaborating with Krampus, Santa’s estranged adoptive brother, who also happens to be Grýla’s ex-lover and the creator of the Naughty List. To uncover the truth, Callum and Jack break into Krampus’ lair, but they are soon captured. Desperate, Callum pleads with Krampus to help his brother, who is longing for reconciliation, but Krampus refuses. Instead, he reveals that Grýla came to him seeking the Glaskäfig, a magical snow globe that imprisons its victims. Though they are allowed to leave, Jack stays behind and convinces Krampus to play a game of Krampusschlap with Callum. During the game, Jack stealthily retrieves Callum’s magic gauntlet and returns it to him, enabling the two to escape.
