Weetabix representative Tobias Durand, while buying a pen to sign divorce papers his wife had served him, steps into the street and is hit by a car driven by Almut Brühl, a former figure skater who has since become a Bavarian-fusion chef. At the hospital, Almut offers to treat Tobias and his wife to a meal at the restaurant where she works, though Tobias keeps the divorce details to himself. On the evening of the dinner, now separated, Tobias goes to the restaurant alone and confides in Almut about his divorce. After the meal, they go back to Almut’s apartment and have sex, and soon after, they move in together.
